Environmental quality and energy policy

The General Management of BALANTIA, being aware of the importance of factors such as energy saving and the social responsibility of its activities, together with the concern to offer a quality service to our customers, as well as to be more efficient internally, has implemented an Integrated Management System (IMS), composed of an Energy Management System based on the international standard ISO 50001:2018, as well as a Quality Management System, based on the international standard ISO 9001:2015 and an Environmental Management System based on the standard ISO 14001:2015.

The IMS provides a framework for setting and reviewing energy saving and efficiency targets to improve corporate energy performance in order to contribute to the protection of the environment, seeking a reduction of emissions as a consequence of the Organisation's activities.

The general guidelines and objectives that guide us in relation to Quality, the Environment and Energy are set out in this Policy defined by the General Management and applicable to the entire Organisation.

These guidelines are as follows:

  • To comply, as a minimum, with each and every one of the requirements established in the applicable legislation and regulations, as well as to satisfy the requirements of customers and users of our activities and other requirements voluntarily subscribed to by BALANTIA.
  • To ensure the maintenance and constant improvement of the Management System implemented, providing all the necessary resources for this purpose.
  • Establish objectives and goals for the continuous improvement of our activity, providing all the necessary resources.
  • To reduce energy consumption and pollutant emissions, as well as to optimise the use of resources in our facilities and activities, so as to continuously improve the Energy and Environmental Performance of the Organisation.
  • To protect the environment as far as possible in the development of our activity and contribute to a low carbon economy.
  • Raise awareness and train the Company's staff on good environmental practices, quality and energy efficiency.

These guidelines will be applied in the provision of energy management consultancy services offered by BALANTIA: energy audits, procurement advice and energy saving certificates.

The IMS is materialised through specific documents that are applied transversally within the organisation, thus facilitating a high degree of participation, knowledge and involvement in the system by all staff, which is a key aspect for its success.

The objectives to be achieved and the Integrated Management Programme shall be defined at least annually, taking the provisions of this policy as a reference. These objectives shall be quantifiable or measurable whenever possible, so that the degree of achievement of the objectives can be evaluated and appropriate measures can be established in the event that they are not achieved.

BALANTIA Management is committed to continuously improve the effectiveness of the Integrated Management System.
